Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Hobart hotels

Visitors to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, just outside of Hobart, are able to view Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, possums, potoroos, tawny frogmouths and other rare creatures that make Tasmania their home.

The night tours of Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary allow visitors to see the many nocturnal animals in action. This tour takes people inside the enclosures, and feeding of the animals is allowed and encouraged. Booking the night tours before you arrive at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is recommended.

During the day there are two tours of the park. These tours go for forty-five minutes, and the tour is guided by a wildlife keeper.

The translated meaning of Bonorong is "“Native Companion” and the park is full of native wildlife and plants.

There are family tickets available and discounts apply to groups with eight or more people. Children under three receive free admission, while all who visit the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary are given a free bag of wallaby food. The park also hosts educational tours, catering to high school and university studies.

Around thirty minutes driving time from the centre of Hobart, to drive to Bonorong Wildlife Park is an easy commute along the Brooker Highway.

The address is 593 Briggs Road, Brighton, Tasmania. Several tour companies take visitors to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
