The Tahune AirWalk allows visitors to see the Tasmanian forest from above. Walking three stories high through the treetops, you can view the Picton River and Huon River, the Hartz Mountains and many types of trees.
Along with Huon pines, other trees include eucalypt trees, King Billy pine, beech, celery top, blackwood, sassafras, myrtle and flowering leatherwood.
It can take three hours to cover the Tahune AirWalk location. Some of the shorter walks are the Huon Pine walk and Picton House Site walk.
Open every day, the hours of business change during the year with the winter season having shorter opening hours. The site closes Christmas Day, and if the weather is hazardous the site can also be closed for safety reasons.
Family and concession price tickets are available. For a fee, people can hire an unpowered camping site. It is recommended that high heels are not to be worn, solid shoes and warm clothing will suit the conditions of the walk.
After a day on the Tahune AirWalk, visitors can use the free barbecue and picnic area or visit the restaurant. The restaurant also provides takeaway food.
